Swiss Cheese Online Cooking Event, Dec 4th

Dear members,

we are very grateful to the Embassy of Switzerland for this unique event.

You are kindly invited to sign-up for an online cooking class with the Swiss Ambassador Konstantin Obolensky and his wife Annette to make a traditional cheese recipe.

  • When: Friday, 4 December,
  • Time: 6pm, ca. for one hour, food will be ready by 6.45pm to enjoy,
  • How: Virtual Cooking session,
  • Ingredients: will be delivered to your place (if in Riga, Marupe or Kipsala) on Thursday, December 3rd between 14:00 and 18:00, or you can collect them at the Embassy of Switzerland, Aldaru iela 2/4, 1050 Riga, phone +371 67 33 83 51. Pickup possible on Thursday, 3 December, from 12:00 until 16:30
  • Limited space: 15 Participants,
  • Participation Fee/Contribution will be minimum EUR 20. Of course more is welcome as all goes to the IWCR charities. The money will be collected when the ingredients are delivered to your place (or when you collect them). 

The ingredients will be for 2-3 people. You will need an oven to prepare the dish.

Culinary Switzerland is a gourmet’s paradise to be explored. Swiss cuisine combines influences from the German, French and North Italian cuisine. However, it varies greatly from region to region with the language divisions constituting a rough boundary outline.

Initiated by the Embassy of Switzerland to support our efforts to raise funds for local charities.

With the support by our international community, embassies, and local businesses we raise funds for charity organisations in Latvia. All proceeds of this event will go directly into the overall fund , and will be distributed to the charities for projects in 2021. This year we meet for a virtual Christmas Bazaar. Virtual Shopping starts on Dec 6th with our Online Auction.

Note: Due to applying rules we will hold this event virtually through zoom. Please follow the latest measures and obligations in regards to COVID-19. From October 14th, a face mask must be worn in public places – shops and elsewhere. Outdoor events are possible with up to 50 people.
