Picnic in Viestura dārzs June 18th

Ok Friends. June is beautiful here in Riga, and it is time to pack your picnic basket. Hang out in the nature with friends eating some delicious food – to me that is what having a picnic is all about.

  • When: Thursday. June 18th, 11:00am,
  • Where: Viestura dārzs (near Hanzas Peron, Rimi and Abakhan Fabrics Store at Pulkveža Brieža iela),
  • Meeting Point: Pētera I stādītās/ monument Peter I., the meeting point is close to a playground. 
  • How: Pot Luck. Every participant contributes a different dish of food to be shared. Or bring something else useful for our joined picnic.

Here are some suggestions

  • something to drink,
  • a few blankets to sit on,
  • pack some plates and forks, 
  • Cups,
  • napkins, 
  • trash bags,
  • Folding table,
  • Sandwiches, cakes, cookies, pasta salad, cinnamon roles, vegetable sticks, dips, chicken nuggets, couscous salad, mini tomatoes, watermelon, grapes, fresh baked bread, cheese etc.

Sharing our favorite foods and quality time is the focus of our picnic. Come and join us. Bring your children if you like, there is a nice playground in the park.

  • Rīga city rules apply: It is disallowed to consume alcoholic beverages in parks, to stay with an open alcoholic beverage package in such places, to smoke, and to leave a garbage after oneself. 
  • Transportation & parking: parking is available at Rimi for 1 hour for free (but for customers actually), please note for other parking opportunities a fee might apply, bus #1 / #19 (>Dzirnavu iela, Exit corner Hanzas iela/ Pulkveža Brieža iela, and walk down 250m), tram  #5, #7, #11 (> Ausekļa iela, 550m walk), please check more connections.
