About the event

Halloween, also known as Allhalloween, All Hallows’ Eve, or All Saints’ Eve, is a celebration observed in many countries on 31st October, and Halloween 2020 will occur on Saturday, October 31. The tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

It is also becoming increasingly popular with children in Latvia.

Samaritans is organizing this amazing event for around 50 children – both with children from the local and international community together with children from an orphanage. You will enjoy an event full of activities outdoor and indoor. IWCR is happily sponsoring the tents for the outdoor activities, and there will be a  terrace for a breaks.

Activities: Arts & crafts, face painting, tattooing, ghost games, halloween decorations and pumpkin carving, costume contest.

All proceeds will go directly to Samaritans

IWCR is glad to support this event promoting understanding, tolerance and friendship among children from different worlds, as well as  different cultures, traditions, and backgrounds..

The funds will be used for field trips with children from different regions in Latvia. It is a chance for many of them to attend events in Riga. Often they do not have the money or, transport possibilites to attend event outside their neighbourhood.  Helping to finance the costs of the bus or train rides,  will open doors to many events.
