Some of the women in our club meet monthly on Tuesday mornings to read and talk about a book together. In April, the group have been reading and discussing “Promise at Dawn”, by the French writer and Prix Goncourt winner Romain Gary. The book is an autobiographical novel about the relationship between a mother and son who move from Poland to France before the second world war.
