International Christmas Journey 2020

This year, we will take our visitors and friends on a journey of various cross-cultural experiences until February 2021. Due to the current situation we will not hold our traditional and popular International Christmas Bazaar.

Traveling is one of the best ways to enjoy the arts and the vibrant gradient of cultures from around the world. It lets us have that first-hand experience that can teach us and move us in many ways. And while the discovery of the world seems out of range at the moment, we invite you to an “International Christmas Journey”.

Together, we raise funds for local charities in Latvia – supported by foreign ambassadors with their families, and a strong international community.

Online Auction – Christmas Shopping

The auction will be online for 6 days running from December 6th until December 11th.

Virtual IWCR Advent Calendar.

The calendar takes you in a daily fun-filled journey which will certainly get you in the Christmas spirit! Each day takes you to a cultural experience around the world – recipes for traditional foods, master piece of music, a virtual travel tour, discounts to local experiences, or entrance tickets for local businesses.

Countdown to Christmas by unboxing an intercultural surprise every single day with the IWCR International Advent Calendar.

Cultural Events.

We invite everyone to join our cultural events. Throughout time we will offer a series of cultural events like traditional cooking classes, yoga sessions, exceptional tour through Agenskalns, or bake sales. These events will be for a limited number of attendees at a fee and will include individual fundraisers organised by the embassies. We will need to consider applying measures, and will organise our events inline with the applying regulations.

Corporate sponsors and private donors are key in this effort to make our annual fundraiser a success.  We are very grateful for the support we receive, we wouldn’t be able to offer such a high quality online auction and Advent calendar.

We are very grateful for valuable items and unique experiences you can contribution to our Online Auction. Our Auction will go online this year, and start on December 6th until December 11th. It is a unique opportunity for local businesses to be promote to the international and local community.

Donations, vouchers, items – big or small – for the Bazaar auction or tombola are all hugely appreciated! We will acknowledge all donations on our Facebook page, website, and at the Bazaar.

IWCR ask for monetory donations for those in need – we will carefully distribute the money for specific projects and needs.

Give a helping hand to those in need

The IWCR Charity Bazaar is our main annual fundraising event. All the funds raised at the Bazaar will be directed to charity projects in Latvia, with special attention to low-income families, young single mothers, children in need, the elderly, and victims of violence.

We are very grateful for all contributions our sponsors help us with and all the visitors we welcome to the event to raise money for IWCR sponsored charities.


This was the Charity Bazaar 2019

Take a tour through our Charity Bazaar 2019, which took place on November 24th. It was a fabulous event with many visitors discovering gifts, hand-made souvenirs, toys and traditional presents from more than 35 countries. Together, we raised 42,000 Euro. Supported by Embassies and a strong international community

The IWCR Annual Fundraiser is a popular event as unique items from different national tables and charity vendors are available for sale. Every year around 40 countries participate.

The Embassies stationed in Riga are very important partners to the IWCR Charity Bazaar. Every year the Embassies and other international partners showcase fantastic goods, food, drink and specialities from their home countries.

The entire work is done by volunteers – volunteers who donate their time, skills and passion without being paid an penny for the enormous work they do.

The Bazaar Organization Team is thankful for every helping hand. Together we can achieve much more.  This year the core team consists of Steffi, Andrea, Dace, Linda, Ilze, Elena and Kerstin.

There are lots of things you can do to help – and have fun while helping.
