The International Women’s Club of Riga (IWCR) hosted the 23rd IWCR Charity Bazaar on November 24th 2019. We are grateful for the wonderful venue. This year, we got together at the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija, Elizabetes iela 55, Riga.

Take a tour through our Charity Bazaar 2019, which took place on November 24th. It was a fabulous event with many visitors discovering gifts, hand-made souvenirs, toys and traditional presents from more than 35 countries. Discover the highlights from the# IWCRCharityBazaar 2019 – see you in 2020.
“Support your local community and charities at this year’s Bazaar, where shoppers have the opportunity to buy unique items from all over the world. The Charity Bazaar is about appreciating individuality, creativity, connecting different cultures, nations and giving conscious holiday shoppers an alternative to the mall.” said Liga Kukaine, IWCR President. “Local residents and visitors from the international community love the opportunity to meet with different people from around the globe and hear their story.”
The Charity Bazaar is held by the International Women’s Club of Riga, and supported by foreign ambassadors with their families, and a strong international community. It presents a cross-national cultural experience, and an opportunity to taste typical food and drinks, as well as purchase original gifts for friends and family – handicrafts, toys, handmade items, delicacies from all around the world– a perfect choice for Christmas Shopping.
“With more than 150 participating vendors, from Embassies, Charities, Handcrafters, live musical performances from local schools, drinks and food, even if you don’t go home with a new purse or piece of art, you will most definitely leave with wonderful impression of what it means to shop at an international fair. There’s even a substantial tombola and silent auction, consisting of products generously donated by vendors”, says Kerstin Steinberg, Bazaar Organizer and Board member of IWCR.

It wouldn’t be a Christmas Market without fantastic artisan crafts, products, treats, and carol singing, silent auction, tombola and kids play corner. We hope you enjoyed the magical atmosphere at our #iwcrbazaar2019.
Thanks to the songs from children’s choirs and the festive atmosphere, the Charity Bazaar has become very popular with the local community attending to enjoy the international experience.
Notable local officials also join, like First Lady of Latvia Andra Levite, Former President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis and Former First Lady of Latvia Iveta Vējon, Valdis Zatlers former presidents of Latvia attended, bought gifts and chatted with guests and volunteers, and exchanged with the charities IWCR supports.
In attendance each year are thousands of people from the local and international community. There is no cost for entrance, and unlimited opportunities to explore delights from around the world.

The IWCR members raise funds to provide support and financial assistance for charities carefully selected each year. Corporate sponsors and private donors are key in this effort to make the Charity Bazaar a success. We are very grateful for the support we receive, we wouldn’t be able to offer such a high quality auction and tombola, kids play corner, massage station, photo booth, or stage program with the support.

Silent Auction at the Bazaar
Our visitors had the chance to bid on wonderful items, generously donated by our sponsor from Riga and surrounding. Take a look at the list – we had great items to bid on, and are very proud, we were able to find new homes for every item.
About the Bazaar
The IWCR organizes the Charity Bazaar every year based on the values of charity, community, joy and uniting the many nations in Latvia.
All proceeds raised at this event go to Latvian charities carefully selected by the IWCR.
The IWCR Charity bazaar is a popular event as unique items from different national tables and charity vendors are available for sale. Last year 31 countries participated and together we raised more than €45,000.
Visitors can discover gifts, hand-made souvenirs, toys and traditional presents from more than 35 countries.
Additionally, the Bazaar gives the chance to participate in exciting auctions and a tombola.
Give a helping hand to those in need
The IWCR Charity Bazaar is our main annual fundraising event. All the funds raised at the Bazaar will be directed to charity projects in Latvia, with special attention to low-income families, young single mothers, children in need, the elderly, and victims of violence.

The IWCR Charity bazaar is a popular event as unique items from different national tables and charity vendors are available for sale. Every year around 40 countries participate.
The Embassies stationed in Riga are very important partners to the IWCR Charity Bazaar. Every year the Embassies and other international partners showcase fantastic goods, food, drink and specialities from their home countries.

Volunteers and Member support
The Bazaar Organization Team is thankful for every helping hand. We are very excited that our members will be part of the bazaar preparation. Together we can achieve much more.
There are lots of things you can do to help – and have fun while helping.
We need people to prepare sellable items in advance, hosting tables at the Bazaar, asking and collecting donations for the auction and/or tombola, working with the handicraft team, and of course spreading the word to all your friends to come and do some festive shopping on the day!
