The 22nd International Charity Christmas Bazaar
took place on Saturday December 1st, 2018 at Town Hall (Rigas Dome), Riga Old Town 11:00 – 16:00
The IWCR Christmas Charity Bazaar is a wonderful opportunity to purchase unusual gifts for your loved ones – hand-made souvenirs and toys and traditional Christmas presents from various countries worldwide and participate in exciting auctions and tombolas. We also offer you exciting culinary products to buy or to enjoy on the spot from over 30 different countries.
At the Bazaar, some of the charitable institutions we support, are also present. They showcase some of their handcrafted wares which are beautifully made by their clients. Aside from selling their products, they also have the opportunity to inform and explain to the shoppers the work that their charities do.
The Christmas Bazaar is the International Women’s Club’s main fundraising event of the year. In 2018 we raised just over 47 000 EURO!
Please have a look at our Sponsors’ Page to see who help us make the Bazaar such a success!
All the funds raised at the Bazaar will be directed to Charity projects in Latvia, with special attention to low-income families, young single mothers, children in need, elderly people, and victims of violence.
Among the charities we support in 2018 are:
- Auce Namins
- SOS Children
- Villages Latvia
- Irlava orphanage
- Ronald McDonald Mobile Center
- Mother Theresa Missionaries of Charity
- The Soup Kitchen of the Riga Anglican Church
- Hope for Children
- Latvian Foster Families Association
- Rupju Berns Center
- Betlemes Maja
- Marsa Gatve crisis center
- Pink Train Foundation
- Martas Centrs.
How to Participate in the Christmas Bazaar 2019?
Embassies and Country Tables
The embassies stationed in Riga are very important partners to our Christmas Bazaar. The money raised by the country tables are a huge part of the final result of the day. And it really is no wonder! Every year the Embassies and other international partners bring in fantastic goods, food, drink and specialities from their home countries to sell at their own tables at the Bazaar. They also donate wonderful items from sweets or wine to furniture, household appliances and airline tickets for our tombola and auction. The result is a truly international Christmas feast for all the senses!
For details and information on the Embassy meeting in September 2018, or on participating with a country specific table, please contact vicepresident.iwcr@gmail.com.
Members:
If you would like to participate with the arrangements for the Christmas Bazaar, your help is very much appreciated! Please contact board.iwcr@gmail.com if you are interested. There are lots of things you can do to help – and have fun while helping a good cause! We need people to prepare sellable items for the various tables in advance, manning the tables at the Bazaar, work on asking and collecting donations for the auction and/or tombola and of course spread the word to all your friends to come and do some serious Christmas shopping on the day! Whatever you feel you can manage is very welcome.
Sponsors:
We are very grateful for any contribution you can help us with to raise money for our charities. Donations, vouchers, items – big or small – for the Bazaar auction or tombola are all hugely appreciated! Please contact board.iwcr@gmail.com if you have anything you can donate for a good cause. And please remember, the IWCR can issue you with a Pnak-form for tax deduction purposes.
Welcome to the International Women’s Club Charity Christmas Bazaar! It’s where Christmas starts!
