What is Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija children’s “Care Mobile” program? 

• Promoting the availability of health care services for children and young people up to the age of 18, “Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvija” (RMHC Latvija) has been regularly providing timely and high-quality free medical consultations for children and young people in rural regions of Latvia closer to their homes for 13 years.
• The mission of the children’s “Care Mobile” (CM) program is secure availability of services that directly impact health and well-being of children Latvia.
• The goal of the children’s CM is to provide apropos and highly quality free of charge medical consultation for families with children closer to their homes.
• Children’s CM is a specially equipped vehicle, in which qualified medical specialists go on off-site visits to the regions of Latvia, especially to the most remote rural regions.
• Children’s CM has two doctor’s offices, one of which is especially equipped with all the necessary diagnostic equipment  for consultations of ophthalmologist.
• Children’s CM is an officially registered as medical institution in Latvia.

Operations of the children’s “Care Mobile” (CM)

• The children’s “Care Mobile” (CM) program has been operating in Latvia since 2010, and during these years more than 57 000 doctor-specialist consultations have been provided to children in Latvia.
• The CM program provides at least 5 000 medical consultations to more than 4 000 children in Latvia per year.
• 3 – 4 visits to regions of Latvia are made every week.
• 2 – 3 doctors – medical specialists go on each visit and each doctor provides at least 20 medical consultations for children.
• In 2022 children’s CM made 125 visits to 40 different locations in Latvia and the team provided 5 364 medical consultations for 4 278 children. Including 147 consultations for 106 children from Ukraine who are currently staying in Latvia.

The team of the children’s “Care Mobile” (CM)

• In close cooperation with doctors from the Children’s Clinical University Hospital of Latvia and from other clinics the CM team provides consultations of ophthalmologist, optometrists, otolaryngologists, pediatric allergologists, pediatric neurologist, physical and rehabilitation therapists, pediatric endocrinologists, pediatric gastroenterologists, speech therapist, dermatologist un pediatric surgeon/orthopaedist.

The children’s “Care Mobile” finances 

• 100% corporative and private persons’ donations. 
• Total cost per 1 medical consultation: 40 EUR.
• Annual budget – 250 000 EUR. 
• Independent publicly available annual audit.
