Betlemes Maja – help needed with gardening.

I hope you had a great holiday! Since most of us are back from our travels, we would like to continue our charity activities. And you are very welcome to join!

For new ladies – please do check our website if you want to know more about who we are and what we do. https://www.iwcr.lv/charity/. Our Charity Committee has met last week and we have planned a few activities for September. As soon as these activities are confirmed by our charities, we will send out all necessary information.

Now, we would like to invite you along for next week’s activity. We will go to Olaine farm, Tuesday September 5, leaving Riga at 11:00, back as you wish (around 15:00). The reason of going is to help with their garden works. So, if you like gardening and feel like helping, it is you opportunity!

Later in September, we will try to organise a small market for IWCR, where we can buy all sorts of bio products, including meat and eggs.

IWCR has been supporting Betlemes Maja for several years now. Betlemes Maja is a centre that helps people trying to overcome different addictions. Betlemes Maja has two shelters, one in Riga and one in Olaine. Olaine farm serves clients in the very first phases of their life without drugs or alcohol. The shelter has domestic animals, such as rabbits, chickens, sheep, as well as a garden with all sorts of vegetables. Right now it is time of harvest, and it so happenes that they don’t have that many people to work there. We would like to go and help with whatever is needed to do around the house.
