The importance of having a community to be a part of

I.C.R. generously donated to the Bazaar 10 show ticket vouchers, which you can win at the #iwcrtombola. But also one gift card to the ICR workshop. The workshops explore all the different ways how improvised comedy theatre can be done with the guidance of our special guest teachers from abroad, this is a great way to step out of your comfort zone and embrace the fun magic that happens when you step out of it!

But that is not all, we are so excited to announce that Improv Comedy Riga will join us at the Bazaar for a performance at 13:30. Come and enjoy the show.

This week, we had the pleasure to meet with Luīze from Improv Comedy Riga (I.C.R). It is a great, ambitious and talented group of artists, who simply felt in love with improvisation theatre. After the Improv Festival Barcelona in 2016 the idea was born to start with “Improv Comedy Riga” shows for an English speaking audience.

IWCR: Why do you give to our organization? What motivates you to stay involved?

Luīze, ICR: It may seem that our company is very different from yours, but we have more things in common than you’d think! We understand the importance of having a community to be a part of as well as creating a welcoming community for other people to be a part of. Being in a supportive environment, creating new friendships and providing space to learn and grow, making a space that welcomes anyone to come share their magic and be themselves. We understand how important lifting each other up is, so why not team up to create more of that?

IWCR: What are your donations to, or activities at, the bazaar?

Luīze, ICR: We’ll do a short performance that everyone at the bazaar is welcomed to come see and we’ll be donating a workshop voucher and 10 passes to any of our shows!

IWCR: What would you like to pass on to future generations?

Luīze, ICR: Our distant colleague and fellow improviser Amy Poehler once said “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you. Spend a lot of time with them and it will change your life.” So to future generations we would like to say – look for those magical people and keep them around, it will keep you sane in this crazy world! 🙂

IWCR: Do you have an anecdote about the bazaar/organization that really moved you?

Luīze, ICR: It will be our first time at this event and working with you this year so we are looking forward to all the fun adventures so we can have a better answer for next year!

IWCR: Do you have a message to share?

Luīze, ICR: If this is the first time you’re hearing or reading about us, let us provide some basic info about us – we are an improvised comedy group that does monthly shows in English and improvised theatre workshops that every single person. reading this is welcome to join!

We believe everyone should go to at least 1 improv class in their life, so here we are, providing you this opportunity!

See facebook.com/ImprovComedyRiga for more info and we can’t wait to see you at the bazaar!

Come and shop at the Charity Bazaar on November 24th, and enjoy the performance by Impro Comedy Riga at 13:30.
