IWCR Cooking Book Project

July 14, 2017By

Dear IWCR community

We would like to introduce you to an initiative  that will be fully launched in September after the summer break.

A group of us is getting together to produce a cooking book, with the intention of publishing and selling it, with all proceeds going to the IWCR charities.

Although we will formally introduce the idea of the cooking book after the summer break, it is possible to start sending recipes now. The concept of this book is to include easy, tried out recipes that you make regularly for your family, ideally (but not necessarily) traditional dishes from your country of origin.

Everyone can submit up to 3 recipes, and it can be anything: starters, soups, dips, main courses, desserts, salads, bread, pastries…or even drinks! If you could send a photo of the finished recipe it would be useful, otherwise just send us the recipe, quoting your name and country of origin. Recipes have to be submitted by email to, in English. We will also translate into Latvian to display each recipe in both languages.

The idea is to fund the publishing of the book with sponsorships.

From September, we will have a committee working on this project. For now, members of the committee are Ulla Poulsen, Daniela Printer and Monica Ussia. Ideally we need 6/7 people in the committee, one of them Latvian speaker. If you are interested to join in, please let us know.

This is the information we have for now. More to follow soon!

In the meantime, please start sending us your recipes.

Have a wonderful summer!

Ulla, Daniela and Monica
