It is about giving something back

Every year, IWCR holds the Charity Bazaar. The IWCR Charity Bazaar is a fabulous time of the year to raise money for the numerous charities that the IWCR supports across Latvia. Visitors can discover gifts, hand-made souvenirs, toys and traditional items from more than 40 countries.

We would like to invite all of you, who are reading this article, to come and experience the delicious German baked goods, potatoes salad with sausage and waffles. We met with Katharina, who coordinates with table for Germany this year.

IWCR: Why do you give to our organization? What motivates you to stay involved?

Katharina, Table Coordinator: The German Embassy is really happy to participate again at this year’s bazar. The IWCR supports wonderful projects for families, young mothers and kids and we are thankful that we can help them realize a lot of their planned projects. Charity is about giving something back and we are grateful for the work of the IWCR.

IWCR: What are your donations to, or activities at, the bazaar?

Katharina, Table Coordinator: This year we will sell different homemade cakes, waffles, Lebkuchen, coffee as well as traditional German potato-salad with sausages and Pretzels.

IWCR: What would you like to pass on to future generations? Do you have a message to share?

Katharina, Table Coordinator: The importance of looking outside the box and recognizing that there are people around you who need help. Such charity projects give you the chance to do something good for other people and especially in this time of year around Christmas everyone should be grateful for what they have and support others who are in need.
