Farewell from Marina Fricke, outgoing President

May 1, 2013By

Dear Ladies of the IWCR,

It was a great pleasure to be able to join the International Women’s Club of Riga when we moved to Latvia in 2009. I found that life was more enjoyable when I was able to become more involved in the Club, working together with so many talented and energetic ladies.  Our Club is indeed growing, and our charity work is extremely busy at the moment.  We continue to support more and more charities throughout Latvia, to give back to society the good we have received through our Luncheons, Pot Luck Lunch, the Wine Tasting Event, and many other one-off events we organize.

Our biggest charity event is the annual “Christmas Bazaar” which we hold at the end of every year, which also enables us to support many charities with its profits.  This also proves the successful team work between the IWCR, its sponsors, and the many Embassies; support for our charity work is definitely strong and growing stronger all the time.  This will always be the biggest and most important annual event for our Club.

With great regret, I have to say goodbye to everyone, as my family and I must move back to Germany this coming June in preparation for our move to Istanbul in June 2014.

Thank you ALL so very much for your kindness, understanding, friendship and support during my Presidency. I hope you will be kind enough to provide the same support to our new Board, as you have given to me.  It was a great honor to know so many of you and an honor also that I was trusted to become the Club President.

Please keep in touch and I hope our paths will cross again one day.

Warmly,
Marina Fricke
outgoing IWCR President (2012/2013)
