The latest guided tour comprised a large party of Members and guests strolling along Ausekla, Vilandes and Rupniciebas iela, looking up at the marvelous Art Nouveau architecture.

We visited the superb Art Nouveau Museum in Alberta iela; entered buildings only usually admired from the pavements and had a 'sneak preview' inside one of Riga's latest renovatation projects, Aleksander House on Auselka iela, where we were hosted to coffee and tasty canapés.

In April Dzintars hosted 18 of our Members to a really interesting tour of its' cosmetics factory.  We wish to thank them for their kind and generous hospitality.

The tour, organised by Ina, comprised:

• the Museum, explaining the history of this long-standing and successful Latvian company dating from 1848
• the perfume and make-up laboratories - where Vija produced our very own fragrance, called Spring Blossom
• the Real Dream  laboratory where our skin was measured for humidity, pH, moisture loss, melanin levels
• the manufacturing process for lipsticks
• stores of the many varied and natural ingredients used in the manufacturing process of more than 350 products.
• After welcome refreshments, our group took advantage of generous discounts in the Dzintars shop, before leaving with super goody bags, gifted by our hosts.
